What you will be doing in this role The Multi-Modality Technologist provides the essential service of generating images of the body for diagnostic purposes with diagnostic imaging equipment as directed by Radiologists, in accordance with the company policies and procedure manuals utilizing two or more of the following modalities: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Computed Tomography (CT), Fluoroscopy, General Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, Mammography and/or Echocardiography.

Requirements

  • Assoc. Degree in Radioloigic Technology required
  • Minimum two years experience as an imaging technologist required
  • Minimum one year experience in each relevant modality required
  • Imaging Registered Rad Tech (ARRT, ARMRIT, ARDMS) required
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the state of California required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in both MRI and CT imaging modalities preferred
  • GE 1.5HDX experience with a strong musculoskeletal background preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and checks patients prior to Imaging procedure.
  • Properly screens all patients and personnel prior to performance of the examination.
  • Acquires patient questionnaire, chart, data/requisition and reviews all to determine contraindication of having Imaging examination.
  • Verifies and validates patient screening safety form including allergies.
  • Performs Imaging procedures required per protocol, daily QA/QC and calibration.
  • Performs venipunctures, draws specimens and maintains competencies.
  • Educates patients regarding Imaging procedures, equipment and exam.
  • Ensures patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • May assist with scheduling of patients as needed.
  • Prepares and administers appropriate contrast media for imaging exam as required.
  • Acquires, archives, transmits and prints images via PACS.
  • When applicable, completes after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
  • Immediately reports any malfunctions; observes potential equipment dysfunctions and reports problems or calls for service.
  • Maintains available equipment up-time.
  • Applies knowledge of radiation physics and safety regulations to limit radiation exposure of the public, patients, fellow workers and self to as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
  • Responsible for continuing professional development and learning new updates, technical information, and skills.
  • May be required to rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations
