About The Position

This position exists to perform a variety of radiographic procedures under general supervision of departmental Manager and Radiologist to assist in a diagnosis of disease and/or injury. Performs in of the following sub-specialties; Radiology (XR) and Computerized Tomography (CT) and with additional focus on OR support. Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures in at least two imaging modalities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, Certificate, or advanced degree in radiologic technology, or modalities of employment, from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Working competency in additional modality.
  • Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Licensed Radiographer - State of MD with CT certification.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of CT experience.

Responsibilities

  • Executes basic clinical competence in general radiology, in all locations across all patient types; in addition, performs exams and procedures as needed in one of the following modalities: CT, MRI, Mammography, and/or Interventional Radiology in accordance to facility protocols.
  • Applies knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation/MR safety and physics, patient positioning and patient care skills.
  • Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
  • Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area.
  • Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality.
