About The Position

The multi-modality technologist will be required to perform high quality radiologic exams with a minimum of two qualifying/credentialed modalities to meet the specific needs of the departments. The Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist is required to work routinely in all disciplines in which they are registered to perform exams. These include: Diagnostic X-ray, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, Mammography and Bone Density. The multi-modality technologist must participate in the on-call schedule where applicable.

Requirements

  • 3 years Multi-Disciplined Radiology Department experience required.
  • 3 years Knowledge of Radiographic procedures and practices required.
  • 3 years Preferred experience in breast imaging preferred.
  • 3 years CT scan experience - required in certain positions preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology program (JRCERT).
  • Must be American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registered and hold post primary certification in a minimum of one additional qualifying discipline.
  • Must hold current Basic Life Support certification and Florida State License for Radiographers.
  • CT Certification Preferred.
  • College Technical Degree JRCERT required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required at time of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
  • Radiology Certifications in 2 or more modalities required and within 90 days Florida Licensure required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, utilize sterile techniques when necessary, and operate complex imaging equipment under the direction of the Director and/or Manager.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory training. Staff orientation, onboarding, training and development.
  • Participate in weekend schedule coverage and the on-call schedule where applicable. Cover additional shifts based on department need.
  • Prepare for the Joint Commission, ACR, Stericycle inspections and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Perform venipuncture to administer contrast media and other medications with appropriate clinical education.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by management within job specifications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of department and notify Bio-Med and other service engineers of equipment issues. Perform and log QA/QC for equipment in use.
  • Collect and document appropriate patient history. Review image quality and forward timely to PACS.
  • Initiate life support measures as appropriate.
