About The Position

The Multi-Modality Tech II operates and manages multiple imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, and PET, to assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role involves preparing patients for imaging procedures, operating advanced imaging equipment, ensuring the quality of images, and maintaining patient records. The Multi-Modality Tech II typically reports to the Director of Radiology and works closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in CT, MRI, or PET imaging.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with specializations in CT, MRI, and/or PET.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience as a Multi-Modality Tech or in a similar role.
  • Additional certifications in advanced imaging modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Explain imaging procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
  • Position imaging equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of the patient's body.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures.
  • Operate CT, MRI, and PET equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation and magnetic resonance.
  • Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice.
  • Review and evaluate developed images to determine if they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure it is safe and in working order.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions during and after imaging procedures.
  • Address any patient concerns or adverse reactions promptly.
  • Provide post-procedure instructions and support to patients.
  • Maintain imaging supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and placing orders.
  • Ensure a clean and organized working environment in the imaging suite.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
