The primary responsibility of a Multi-Modality Technologist is to perform and produce images for any combination of 2 procedures with related techniques, such as CT, XR, or MRI.

Requirements

  • Associate's from an ARRT accredited institute for an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography (preferred)
  • Associate of Applied Science in Imaging (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred)
  • State Licensure Certification (preferred or required by the state where the job is being performed)
  • Registration with ARRT or RDMS or CNMT (required)
  • Required to be competent in 2 of the following and obtain certification within 12 months: Bone Densitometry (BD), Breast Sonography (BS), Radiologic Technology (R), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Ultrasonography (S), Nuclear Medicine (N), Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV), Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), Cardiac Sonographer (CS), Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI), Mammography (M), Vascular Sonography (VS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • 1 year of experience in healthcare environment (preferred)

  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
  • Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred)
  • Radiology Information System (RIS) (preferred)
  • IV Contrast Administration (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties for any 2 imaging modalities, such as XR, CT, MRI, ARRT or RDMS.
  • Safely operate equipment and accessories to minimize risk of patient and equipment.
  • Select appropriate imaging and sequences in alignment with multiple factors.
  • Knowledge in workflows, procedures, and processes of the imaging modalities.
  • Perform venipuncture including starting, maintaining, and removing intravenous access.
  • Provide radiation protection and other protection specific to the modalities.
  • Obtain and verify the patient clinical history and lab work.
  • Use of POC device for Lab work.
