About The Position

The Multi-Modality MR Technologist in a diagnostic center setting is responsible for performing MR and diagnostic imaging exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. Performs all radiology and MR exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs MR screening for all patients, patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, IV insertions and contrast injections, and for completing all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Detail oriented ability to multi-task organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiology (R) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
  • Weekend Shifts
  • Work/Float in more than one work location

Nice To Haves

  • Radiology and MRI experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Operates the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures.
  • Prepares and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice.
  • Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed.
  • Positions the patient and observes the scanning process.
  • Screens patients for MRI safety prior to the procedure and evaluates the MR scan for technical quality, sequence of exposure and labels appropriately.
  • Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors.
  • Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care.
  • Follows ALARA principles according to policy.
  • Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation.
  • Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
