The Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist's primary responsibility is to perform procedures with related techniques across any two imaging modalities (e.g., XR, CT, MRI), producing images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner. This role requires operating equipment and accessories, possessing knowledge of workflows, procedures, and processes specific to the two chosen modalities, and selecting appropriate imaging/sequences based on approved protocols and other influencing factors. The technologist is responsible for obtaining and documenting patient clinical history and relevant lab work, utilizing POC devices for lab work, and applying safety principles to minimize risks to patients, self, and others. Key duties include providing radiation and other specific protection, verifying patient identification using two identifiers, and validating prescribed procedures. As required by the modalities, the technologist may perform venipuncture (including starting, maintaining, or removing IV access), identify, prepare, and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed, and use power injectors following manufacturer guidelines for infusion rates and pressure. The position also requires participation in on-call schedules.
