Multi-Modality Technologist 3 (Harmonized) The Jewish Hospital Mercy Health Job Summary: The Multi-Modality Technologist 3 performs duties related to three modalities, which may include performing of procedures with related techniques, and/or producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Registration with CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) (required)
  • Required to be competent or registered in 3 of the following and obtain certification within 12 months: Bone Densitometry (BD) Breast Sonography (BS) Radiologic Technology (R) Computed Tomography (CT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Ultrasonography (S) Nuclear Medicine (N) Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) grandfathered Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI_ Mammography (M) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care; ACLS required prior to direct patient care in Cardiology units)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree (preferred) – For imaging modalities, preference is from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute or of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or of an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography
  • 1 year of experience in healthcare environment (preferred)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
  • Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred)
  • Radiology Information System (RIS) (preferred)
  • IV Contrast Administration (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties for three modalities within the imaging and/or cardiovascular technology job families. (ex: XR, CT, MRI,ARRT, RDMS)
  • Meets continuing education or clinical requirements necessary to meet regulatory standards
  • Operates equipment, accessories and is knowledgeable in workflows, procedures and processes of three modalities.
  • When appropriate, selects imaging/sequences with consideration given to approved protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
  • Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner. Use of POC device for Lab work.
  • Applies safety principles with a focus on the three modalities to minimize risk to patient, self and others that may affect the patient’s safety, damage the equipment or affect the image quality.
