About The Position

WTAJ is seeking a Multi-Media Marketing Specialist responsible for selling television, digital, and social media advertising solutions to local businesses and ad agencies. The ideal candidate is coachable, thrives in a goal-oriented team environment, and has strong interpersonal skills. The company provides tools for powerful advertising solutions, and the role requires a positive attitude, client focus, and a desire to win. This Sales Account Executive position involves generating advertising revenue by calling on established agencies, cold-calling new prospects, and convincing potential clients of the merits of television advertising. The specialist will implement strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals, establish credible relationships with the local business community, and make sales calls on existing and prospective clients. Other duties include maintaining assigned accounts, developing new accounts, preparing and delivering sales presentations, explaining advertising effectiveness, providing rate information, and developing advertising schedules and advertisements with clients and station personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Minimum one year’s experience in sales, preferably in the media field
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment

Responsibilities

  • Sell television, digital, and social media advertising solutions to local businesses and ad agencies
  • Generate advertising revenue by calling on established agencies and cold-calling new prospects
  • Convince potential clients of the merits of television advertising

  • Provide clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media
  • Develop advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media
  • Work with clients and station personnel to develop advertisements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
