About The Position

THE POSITION WILL BE LOCATED AT HEADQUARTERS IN TALLAHASSEE AND IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. Interested parties need to complete the application using the on-line People First system. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES Develop useful and engaging content for target audiences and the Department’s social media sites. This includes written materials, graphics, photography, video, and other campaign materials. Assembles and summarizes information for use by the professional staff. Assists Executive Staff with special projects that support the Office of the Secretary and other State leadership. Assists with the development of Office of Communications annual strategic plan, the social media strategic plan, and various marketing campaign strategic plans. Identifies social media opportunities and strategies to proactively communicate the Department’s mission and provide information to the public. Tracks social media analytics and plans for future outreach based on performance metrics. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of current social media practices
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to collect and analyze data relating to public relations, social media or report writing.
  • Ability to operate photographic equipment to capture images
  • Ability to develop appealing social media.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities
  • Ability to multitask, using a high level of problem-solving skills and judgement
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects whether collaborative or independent
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments which meet deadlines
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 1-3 years of professional social media and communication experience.
  • Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
