About The Position

Under the direction of the Service Director and Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance, grounds, and housekeeping services to ensure excellent curb appeal and quality of apartment homes and responding to customer service requests. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and janitorial services, assisting with maintenance of storage areas and materials, performing refurbishing and renovation of apartments, and walking the property daily. The technician is also responsible for notifying the RE Manager of safety concerns, participating in safety meetings, having knowledge of property-specific problems like asbestos, assisting in snow removal, and maintaining accurate records of tasks. Customer service duties include completing all service requests in accordance with company standards and being available for weekend work, on-call duties, and after-hours emergency service requests 24 hours per day, 7 days per week as scheduled.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • CFC Type I & II may be required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must live, or being willing to relocate, within 30 minutes of the property
  • At least 1-2 years of maintenance experience
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders no higher than 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities such as bending, kneeling, pushing
  • Sufficient knowledge to thoroughly complete maintenance assessment up to the standards of a Service Technician II
  • Ability to stand for extended period of hours
