Multi-Family Field Sales Engineer - Dallas, TX We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Sales Engineer to join our team and help drive the success of our electronic solution sales in the multi-family market. This subject matter expert role is pivotal in reducing deployment friction, increasing partner competencies, shortening sales cycles, and improving customer satisfaction. The Field Sales Engineer will collaborate closely with our Local Regional Sales Office (RSO) National Electronic Sales (NE) teams and system integration partners to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and close complex sales. This position requires a deep understanding of Physical Access Control Software (PACS), integrated electronic locks, reader & credential technology (both physical and mobile), and low-voltage systems, IT/Wi-Fi networks, paired with hands-on field experience. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of field engineering, systems integration, or technical sales experience with electronic access control, security systems, or building automation; direct multi‑family experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Physical Access Control Software (PACS), integrated electronic locks, reader & credential technology (both physical and mobile), IT/Wi-Fi networks, and low-voltage systems.
  • Proven track record of partnering with sales teams to close high-value, complex sales opportunities in core institutional, multi-family, corporate, and/or government markets.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex system challenges.
  • Proven experience delivering technical training and partner enablement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electronic security solutions is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required, typical 40% (range 30-60% depending on territory).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with system integration and working with third-party vendors.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based access control systems and IoT technologies.
  • Hands-on commissioning/troubleshooting of networked access control systems and electrified locks.
  • Knowledge of the multi-family market, standards and regulations related to electronic security solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical subject matter expert (SME) in software, integrated electronic locks, reader & credential technology (both physical and mobile).
  • Partner with RSO and NE sales teams to identify customer needs, propose solutions, and support the sales cycle from initial contact to deal closure and site implementation.
  • Support System Integration partners with: Solution training for integrator personnel.
  • Site surveys/planning for upgrades Site implementation - Provide hands-on support to systems integrators during commissioning and troubleshooting for complex installs Field support - Act as primary escalation resource for high-visibility issues; coordinate with Technical Support, Product & Engineering on resolution.
  • Conduct on-site assessments, system demonstrations, and technical presentations to showcase solution capabilities and benefits.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to provide innovative and forward-thinking solutions.
  • Cross-Train and support other solutions/initiatives as needed by the business.
