About The Position

The Multi-Discipline Building Codes Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections related to electrical, building, and plumbing/mechanical codes in southwest Montana. This role ensures compliance with adopted codes and state laws, investigates complaints, and performs administrative duties such as on-site plan reviews and issuing permits. Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months experience in a construction related field or associate degree in a construction related field.
• Knowledge of state adopted building codes, rules, laws and policies applicable to the position.
• Skill in verbal and written communication, self-direction, and customer service.

Nice To Haves

• ICC IBC Building Inspector Certification and ICC IBC Plan Review Certification.
• Montana master or journeyman electrical license.
• Montana Master or Journeyman Plumbing license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections for compliance with adopted Codes, Administrative Rules and State law.
• Investigate complaints and conduct investigations.
• Perform administrative duties including on-site plan review and field issuing permits.
