About The Position

The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking a Multi-Department Program Director for our Greater Waco YMCA in Waco, TX. Under the direction of the Greater Waco YMCA Associate Executive Director, the Multi Department Program Director will oversee the success of the Greater Waco YMCA camp programs as well as year-round enrichments. Duties include, but not limited to: Responsible for growth of camp programs and providing enrichment activities that will help membership retention Hands on Management of multiple-departments including Camp and Enrichment Work with our Association liaison to develop Homeschool and other enrichment based programs in the Waco area Monitor and maintain related department budgets Staff supervision, hiring, training, coaching and ensuring safe operations Program development and growth About Us: We are a not-for-profit services Association focusing on mission driven initiatives, with a vision of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout 7 Texas Counties. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or Recreation, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Five or more years of experience in supervising or directing programs as a program and/or center director preferred
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to relate well to children, to communicate effectively, build rapport, and maintain positive relations with members staff, and Y leadership
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of members, participants, volunteers or Y employees
  • Ability to attract, maintain, lead and motivate quality staff and volunteer leadership
  • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred
