About The Position

The ideal Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is a self-motivated, skilled hourly professional with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and a foundation in the skills needed to properly maintain manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Proven experience and technical knowledge in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of experience and technical knowledge in the areas of industrial electrical, including controls and mechanical maintenance of equipment.
  • Proficient in both electrical and mechanical knowledge and abilities.
  • Basic hand/power tool familiarity.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications or work instructions.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industrial electricity, mechanics, refrigeration, vacuum, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, email), including knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Pumping system maintenance experience.
  • Conveyor system maintenance experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and program PLCs (experience with Siemens is a plus).
  • Experience with AC/DC drives.
  • Detail-oriented, strong communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year-college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all maintenance activities related to assigned action area, including planned tasks regarding predictive and preventive maintenance.
  • Apply problem solving skills to reduce the consequences of failure.
  • Be a team player and willing to share and encourage other members.
  • Take initiative and actively participate in problem analysis, identification of root causes and suitable permanent solutions.
  • Create improvement proposals and execute tasks resulting from improvement proposals.
  • Complete administrative tasks using the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Support operators by providing training.
  • Apply maintenance experience and competence.
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
  • Actively troubleshoot maintenance issues and tasks to ensure proper and timely resolution.
  • Install and align new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventative maintenance findings.
  • Work with the operations and maintenance team to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Help meet or exceed production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste.
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and actively participate in the safety program.
  • Apply simple problem-solving methods such as 5Y to reduce and eliminate failures.
  • Learn and practice Electrical and Instrumentation skills.
  • Work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime when needed.
