About The Position

The Multi-Craft Maintenance position at Mayfield Dairy Farms involves performing maintenance tasks on various mechanical and electrical systems within a food or beverage manufacturing environment. The role requires a combination of technical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. The position is for the 2nd shift and is located in Birmingham, AL.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in or degree received from trade or technical school preferred.
• At least 1 year of multi-craft maintenance work experience including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC, NH3 refrigeration.
• Experience in food or beverage manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of or experience working on a variety of mechanical manufacturing equipment, including motors, relays, rollers, conveyors.
• Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and recognize potential problems.
• Take corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment downtime.
• Use a variety of maintenance tools, hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment safely.
• Perform complex maintenance activities and repairs independently.
• Complete projects from planning to installation.
• Present options and ideas to improve current processes or procedures.
• Adapt and manage to change effectively.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and find solutions to problems.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
