The Northern Nevada Literacy Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Instructor for the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) Apprenticeship Readiness Program. This role is designed to provide instruction to out-of-school youth aged 18-24 who are pursuing their high school equivalency certification. The instructor will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive curriculum that includes essential skills in the building trades, utilizing the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) model of Integrated Education and Training (IET). The position requires in-person instruction from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, during school days, with additional paid hours available for lesson planning, program coordination, and student support, which can be conducted remotely or in-office. The ideal candidate will complete the MC3 Train-The-Trainer program through the North America's Building Trades Union, leading to an MC3 Instructor Certification, as well as certifications in CPR/First Aid and OSHA-10. All necessary certifications will be funded through the YouthBuild grant, ensuring that the instructor is well-equipped to provide high-quality education and support to students. The instructor will manage a classroom of 10-20 students, focusing on practical skills and knowledge that will prepare them for careers in the skilled trades. This role emphasizes the importance of diversity and inclusion, particularly for women, communities of color, and English language learners, who are often underserved in workforce development programs.
