About The Position

The System Modeling team plays a critical role in advancing wind turbine performance through state-of-the-art system modeling capabilities. The team is responsible for developing and adapting multibody simulation models to support both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for field issues encountered in operating turbines. The team’s vision is to establish validated, cutting-edge capabilities in multibody system simulations and their seamless integration into the loads toolchain. This enables the delivery of cost-effective, high-performance products with bankable quality and rapid market readiness, providing significant value to our customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering, Systems Engineering or similar field with Renewable Energy emphasis preferred
  • 7+ years of experience with multi-body simulation codes (e.g., Simpack, ADAMS, openFAST), including advanced model setup and troubleshooting

Nice To Haves

  • Strong programming skills in Python, Matlab, or similar, with experience building, testing, validating, and maintaining production‑quality code
  • Proven experience owning wind turbine system simulation and modeling work, from problem definition through final recommendations
  • Solid understanding of wind turbine operation, control strategies, operability, and validation, with the ability to apply this knowledge to real design decisions
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting complex topics to technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Demonstrated success leading process automation efforts that improve efficiency, quality, or repeatability
  • Experience leading teams or projects, partnering effectively across functions and with global teams; familiar with SCRUM/Agile ways of working
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives from idea to successful implementation

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and long‑term ownership of state‑of‑the‑art multibody simulation capabilities
  • Independently plan and execute simulation work using MBS tools to support New Product Introduction and Root Cause Analysis
  • Incorporate field learnings into improved models, simulation methods, and design practice updates
  • Drive Design Reviews, clearly presenting analysis strategy, results, conclusions, and lessons learned to Controlled‑Title Holders
  • Own the development and improvement of software tools, system models, and design load calculation methods
  • Mentor others while creating and maintaining user interfaces, training material, and user guides
  • Define, execute, and review validation plans, ensuring model credibility and best practices across teams

Benefits

  • Healthcare benefits include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage; access to a Health Coach, a 24/7 nurse-based resource; and access to the Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services.
  • Retirement benefits include the GE Retirement Savings Plan, a tax-advantaged 401(k) savings opportunity with company matching contributions and company retirement contributions, as well as access to Fidelity resources and planning consultants.
  • Other benefits include tuition assistance, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, disability insurance, life insurance, and paid time-off for vacation or illness.
