The Project Manager [Urban Design] at MUD Workshop will play a crucial role in leading urban design and planning projects, focusing on community-centric approaches and climate responsiveness. This position involves coordinating with the Project Principal, managing junior staff, and ensuring effective communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Coordinating with the project principal on all phases of the design and planning process.
  • Developing presentations and urban design frameworks, including graphics and written content, to communicate design, planning, and policy ideas.
  • Leading community/stakeholder workshops and meetings.
  • Supporting the project principal in client and consultant meetings and representing the firm in their absence.
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Understanding and responding to technical implications and design decisions.
  • Managing sub-consultant deliverables and scope of work through all phases of the project.
  • Directing and organizing workflow and tasks to be performed by junior team members.
  • Reviewing work for quality, accuracy, omissions, and legibility.
  • In-depth knowledge of place-making and community-focused design, including the creation of urban design and planning frameworks, built form and public realm plans, policies, and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in industry standard 2D/3D software including Rhino, Vray, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, and Arc/QGIS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence in delivering public presentations and engaging with clients, project consultant teams, and stakeholders.
  • Passion for mentoring and managing junior team members.
  • Exceptional work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; self-motivated and extremely organized.
