In Pursuit of this mission, we are looking to hire a MTSS Behavior Management Coach. This role is for someone who: Believes strong classroom culture drives student achievement. Understands that adult learning fuels student success. Knows that schoolwide systems must align with classroom practices. Is passionate about equity, restorative practices, and culturally responsive environments. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
  • Three to five years of successful teaching experience
  • Three consecutive years of Effective or Highly Effective ratings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PBIS/CRPBIS or MTSS systems
  • Experience leading professional learning or coaching adults
  • Knowledge of B-TFI and Tier 1 implementation practices
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive-sustaining education frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen Schoolwide Behavior Systems You will partner with assigned schools to: Coach staff around their behavior matrix and expectations Align acknowledgment systems to schoolwide values Clarify major/minor behavior definitions and response flowcharts Support restorative, consistent responses to student behavior Help schools improve Tier 1 fidelity using B-TFI data You will attend and collaborate with CRPBIS teams monthly and help monitor action plans designed to improve school climate and adult implementation
  • Deliver Job-Embedded Coaching That Changes Practice You will ensure district classroom management professional development moves beyond theory and into daily practice by: Modeling proactive classroom systems Coaching teachers through observation and feedback cycles Supporting positive-to-corrective feedback balance Strengthening restorative practices and inclusive classroom culture Aligning classroom routines to schoolwide systems This role is non-evaluative. It is about partnership, professional trust, and professional growth.
  • Use Data to Drive Equity and Improvement You will help teams: Analyze discipline data for patterns and disproportionality Monitor implementation fidelity Use PLC structures to answer: What do we expect students to do? How will we respond when they don’t? How will we reinforce when they do? Your work supports culturally responsive, sustaining systems that create welcoming and affirming learning environments
