AMD, Inc. is hiring an MTS Systems Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design a complete and complex framework, system or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following: 1.Circuit board and schematic design; 2.Schematic capture and PCB design tools such as OrCAD or Allegro; 3.Analog circuit modeling and simulation tools (SIMPLIS, PSpice, or HSPICE); 4.Power Component Selection and Power Design; 5.Control theory, closed loop compensation, stability analysis, or phase margin; 6.Utilizing lab equipment such as oscilloscope, eLoad, or function generator; and 7.Python.

Responsibilities
