Requirements

Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field) or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Experience with programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Android (2 years)
Experience with API development and service frameworks like Avro and Protobuf (2 years)
Data processing frameworks like Spark, Flink, Kafka, Druid, Presto (2 years)
Data Storage Engines like Hive, Cassandra, MongoDb, Redis, Elastic Search (2 years)
Big Data Technologies like Hadoop ecosystem like Pig, Hive, Oozie (2 years)
Caching systems like goblin cache, rocksdb (2 years)
Tools like Airflow, Docker (2 years)
Software configuration and deployment tools like chef, puppet, cfengine (2 years)
Monitoring tools like nagios, Prometheus, graphana, Service now (2 years)
Experience with Prompt Engineering and using Generative AI technologies (2 years)

Responsibilities

Build and implement new experiences for eBay sellers and advertisers to promote their products, manage their advertising campaigns, and improve their sales.
Design and develop elegant technical software solutions to customer problems.
Develop highly available, scalable user facing software applications and RESTful public APIs.
Test and deploy software code in a continuous manner.
Execute as part of a cross-functional agile team that rapidly delivers iterative value to customers.
Operate within eBay’s internal open-source community where a variety of projects and codebases are shared.
Identify project risks, quantify risk/benefit relationships, and provide alternative solutions as well as risk mitigation.
Contribute to technical conversations and debates and decide upon approaches and tools to utilize.
Evangelize, mentor, and promote engineering best practices throughout the company.
Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
