The Maintenance Supervisor II (B and C) position at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is a critical role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of structural inspection teams that focus on the maintenance of underground structures. The incumbent will supervise a team of supervisors and maintainers, ensuring that all structural inspections are conducted efficiently and effectively. This role requires the collection and management of MOW Engineering Inspection Reports, which involves prioritizing issues and entering them into the EAM database. The supervisor will also perform field inspections to document defects that need to be addressed in Capital Program Contracts and will track the progress of repairs. In addition to inspection duties, the Maintenance Supervisor II will respond to emergency calls from Control or Engineering Managers regarding urgent issues such as falling concrete or customer complaints. The role includes preparing and maintaining inspection schedules, guiding inspection teams on procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and the Policy Instruction Manual. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining payroll records, managing sick leave and vacation schedules, and entering payroll data into the AS400 system. Furthermore, the incumbent will produce and distribute defect database records and statistical summaries to Engineering Managers and the Infrastructure Division, requiring effective communication with various departments within MTA. The position is based at the West 4th Street Station, with working hours from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and may require overtime and weekend work as needed. This role is open to current Maintenance Supervisors I/II (B and C) and offers a structured compensation plan that increases with tenure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of subway line and station structures, maintenance procedures, and relevant computer applications, along with excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and compliance.
