About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for processing laboratory specimens within our in-house lab. Other responsibilities include determining the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria, sending out specimens if needed, performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures, monitoring, operating and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality, demonstrating the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving, preparing, testing and evaluating new reagents or controls, reporting accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care, performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control procedures, identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies as necessary, assisting with processing of specimens when needed, and maintaining a safe work environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience.
