About The Position

Franciscan Health Lafayette East is seeking a dedicated individual to join our laboratory team. This position involves specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. The individual will be responsible for conducting waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. Results must be reported according to established procedures, and the individual will participate in all quality control procedures while complying with quality assurance and quality management standards as outlined by the department and relevant agencies such as JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA. Additionally, specimen collection may be required as part of the role.

Requirements

• Associates degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution for MLT position.
• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university for MT position, or a Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for specimen processing and test performance.
• Report test results according to established procedures.
• Participate in quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance standards.
• Perform specimen collection as necessary.
