About The Position

Franciscan Health Olympia Fields is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) to join our team. This position is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. The testing performed will include waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director. The individual will report results of all tests performed according to established procedures and will participate fully in all quality control procedures, complying with quality assurance and quality management standards as outlined by the department, JCAHO, CAP, CLIA, and other applicable agencies. Additionally, the individual will perform specimen collection as necessary. The shift for this position is from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with weekend and/or holiday rotation, and alternating shifts may be necessary to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution for MLT.
• Bachelor degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university for MT.
• Or Bachelor degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities
