About The Position

Franciscan Health Michigan City is seeking a part-time MT/MLT/Laboratory Scientist to join our team. This position is located at 3500 Franciscan Way, Michigan City, IN 46360, and requires working from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM with a weekend and/or holiday rotation. The role is a 20-hour work week (0.5 FTE) and comes with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. We are a highly reliable scientific organization dedicated to advancing health, wellness, and continuity of care in the communities we serve. As one of the largest integrated laboratory networks in the Midwest, we serve 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices.

Requirements

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution for MLT.
• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university for MT.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences with at least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results.
• Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director.
• Report results of all tests performed according to established procedures.
• Participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards.
• Perform specimen collection as necessary.
