About The Position

Franciscan Health Michigan City is seeking a dedicated individual to join our laboratory team. We are a highly reliable scientific organization committed to advancing health, wellness, and continuity of care in the communities we serve. Our laboratory network is one of the largest in the Midwest, serving 32 hospitals and multiple physician offices. This position involves working the night shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with a weekend and/or holiday rotation. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified Medical Technologists (MT) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT).

Requirements

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution for MLT.
• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited college or university for MT, or a Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
• At least 1 year of pertinent full-time clinical laboratory experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results.
• Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity tests as authorized by the Director.
• Report results of all tests performed according to established procedures.
• Participate fully in all quality control procedures and comply with quality assurance and quality management standards.
• Perform specimen collection as necessary.
