About The Position

The position involves leading a team of supervisors and associates in a retail environment, specifically focusing on product categories in the assigned area. Requirements

  • 2 years of experience leading associates in a retail environment.
  • 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.
  • 1 year of experience performing manager-on-duty responsibilities.
  • 1 year of experience directly managing a team of sales associates.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, selects, develops, and provides direct leadership over a team of supervisors and associates.
  • Models behaviors needed to deliver SMART customer service and maintain an in-stock position.
  • Sets clear and measurable service and operational goals for the team.
  • Tracks team progress on a daily basis.
  • Connects with the team regularly to understand challenges and remove obstacles.
  • Provides recognition for effective behaviors and exceeding operational goals.
  • Offers open and timely feedback, coaching, training, and development opportunities.
  • Manages performance of associates against established goals.
  • Encourages idea sharing and empowers decision-making.
  • Identifies and addresses associate relations concerns.
  • Drives execution of service, reset, pricing, and operational programs.
  • Manages store opening and closing procedures.
  • Controls expenses including payroll and manages payroll hours.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry service, sales, and operational trends.
  • Identifies sales opportunities and gaps in inventory/merchandising.
  • Anticipates and addresses operational issues impacting customer service.
  • Monitors store power equipment usage and ensures safety.
  • Drives a culture of safety, security, and shrink prevention.
  • Provides full leadership over the store as Manager-on-Duty.
  • Walks the store to observe customer/associate interaction.
  • Ensures departments are properly staffed for customer traffic.
  • Validates that aisles remain clean, safe, and free of clutter.
  • Funnels non-MOD activities to appropriate leaders.
  • Seeks performance feedback and pursues self-development opportunities.
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners.
  • Adapts quickly and effectively to work challenges and organizational change.
