About The Position

The Member Service Representative (MSR) is responsible for providing an excellent member experience in every aspect of the position. This role involves delivering a wide range of banking services and assisting members with their financial goals by offering appropriate Credit Union products and services. The MSR is tasked with creating and enhancing long-term relationships with both new and existing members, ensuring that they receive prompt and professional service. The position requires assisting members with online banking needs, processing fraud and debit/credit card disputes, and opening auxiliary accounts. The MSR must provide a variety of account services including check processing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, Visa gift card creation, wire transfers, cashier's checks, Visa cash advances, night drop deposits, and mail deposits in a timely and accurate manner. Additionally, the MSR is responsible for safely and precisely following all branch opening and closing procedures. The MSR diligently works to increase job knowledge and performance through continuing education, training courses, and assigned certification programs. They ensure that members and prospective members are served promptly and professionally, providing general Credit Union information and effectively cross-selling products and services. The essential functions of the MSR include performing member service transactions and account maintenance, establishing and maintaining effective business relationships with members, and coordinating communication with area personnel and management. The MSR must stay informed regarding local and national economic conditions and legal and regulatory changes, ensuring proper maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the work area. Performance measurements for the MSR include the efficiency and accuracy of member service transactions, adherence to security procedures, balancing of funds, maintaining good business relations with members, and ensuring that required reports are accurate and timely. The MSR must work a regular and predictable schedule, demonstrating a commitment to increasing job knowledge and performance through ongoing education and training.
