About The Position

ProVal is a trusted partner to Managed Service Providers (MSPs), delivering technical expertise and strategic services that help MSPs grow, scale, and deliver exceptional value to their clients. We combine deep MSP experience with project execution excellence to drive success for our partners. We are seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer with a strong MSP Tier 3 background to join our team. This role bridges technical expertise and client-facing leadership, ensuring successful delivery of Microsoft and other technical projects for our MSP clients. The ideal candidate will be skilled at technical scoping, solution design, project planning, and stakeholder communication, while also being comfortable in sales-related discussions with both technical and business decision-makers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an MSP or IT services environment, with at least 2+ years in a Tier 3 engineering or senior technical role.
  • Proven experience in project management, including scoping, planning, and execution of Microsoft-focused projects (Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of MSP business models and service delivery practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading technical sales calls and contributing to pre-sales efforts.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical sales calls with prospective and current MSP clients to scope projects and define requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales and service teams to translate client needs into detailed Statements of Work (SOWs), including estimates on cost and timelines.
  • Provide technical expertise in Microsoft solutions, MSP infrastructure, and core MSP toolsets (such as RMM, PSA, and documentation platforms), ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of client projects, including planning, resource coordination, execution, status reporting, and project wrap-up.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact during project lifecycles, building trust and credibility with client stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to client expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of project management processes and best practices within ProVal.
  • Prepare and present projects status reports to leadership.
