The MSIM Student Success & Academic Advisor will provide academic advising and student support coaching for the Master of Science in Information Management (MSIM) program. The MSIM Student Success & Academic Advisor is one of three primary advisors to the Information School’s MSIM degree for students in our online and in-person modalities, all reporting to the Lead Academic Advisor. This position collaborates with the MSIM Program Team composed of the Program Chair, MSIM Assistant Director, and Program Coordinator to ensure student and program success. Additionally, this position coordinates with other iSchool program staff to support the Information School's joint student-facing activities. This position is expected to participate in iSchool communities of practice related to student support and advising to share best practices across our five degree programs. The MSIM Student Success & Academic Advisor will work closely with faculty, staff, students, as well as prospective students, alumni and employers. In the iSchool, there is an expectation that all faculty and staff will step up where they see an opportunity to apply their special expertise or talents, speak up when they identify opportunities or concerns, and lead by taking actions that exemplify the iSchool’s core values. Leadership within the iSchool is expressed in diverse ways reflecting the variety of styles and cultures that are represented by our faculty and staff.
