About The Position

Join our team as a Linux Systems Administrator, where you will support and manage a diverse mix of workstations, servers, and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters. We are looking for a skilled professional with a solid foundation in Linux administration and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 to 12 years of related experience.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Must be able to pass the CI polygraph within 180 days of hire.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, or equivalent baseline security certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility and maintain program accesses as required.
  • Strong experience with Linux system administration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for Linux environments.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.

Nice To Haves

  • RHCSA, Linux+, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, shell scripting, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with container technologies like Docker, Podman, and Apptainer.
  • Experience managing HPC clusters using Bright, Slurm, and/or xCAT.
  • Strong networking experience in Linux environments.
  • Cross-OS administration experience with Windows.
  • Virtualization experience with VMWare or Nutanix.
  • Active TS//SCI clearance with a current CI Scope Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Securely deploy and manage Linux workstations, servers, and HPC clusters.
  • Administer local and remote filesystems efficiently.
  • Automate tasks using shell scripting and Python.
  • Manage security features, including firewalls and SELinux.
  • Work with Ansible for system configuration and automation.
  • Deploy and manage containerized environments using Docker or Podman.
  • Maintain and optimize HPC clusters with tools such as Bright, Slurm, and xCAT.
  • Configure and manage Linux networking and associated services.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices, company and agency policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation of plans, system configurations, and operational processes and procedures.
