About the position

MSI Express is seeking a detail-oriented and improvement-driven student to join our summer internship program with a focus on continuous improvement and quality investigations. This paid internship offers practical experience in root cause analysis, defect reduction, and data-driven improvement efforts within a food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to foreign material investigations and help address false reject issues.
• Support initiatives aimed at reducing waste and improving product quality.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering to implement process improvements.
• Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality incidents.
• Analyze trends in checkweigher rejections and identify improvement opportunities.
• Participate in line observations, quality audits, and improvement recommendations.
• Prepare reports summarizing findings, contributing to investigation documentation and tracking improvements.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and observational skills.
• Interest in quality assurance, food safety, or continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
• Currently enrolled in a Food Science, Biology, Quality, Engineering, or related academic program.
• Proficiency in Excel and basic reporting tools.
