About The Position

We are seeking MSHA-trained Mechanics for an upcoming 25-day outage project in Kern County. This is a short-term, high-demand role requiring strong mechanical troubleshooting skills in an MSHA-regulated environment. Ideal candidates are reliable, safety-focused, and experienced in outage or shutdown work.

Requirements

  • Current MSHA training (Part 48 preferred)
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience in industrial, mining, or aggregate environments
  • Hands-on experience working with conveyors, crushers, screens, motors, hydraulics, and gearboxes
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and commit to the full 25-day project
  • Willingness to work 6–7 days per week as required
  • Reliable transportation to job site(s) in Kern County
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments (standing, lifting, climbing, exposure to dust/noise)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior outage or shutdown project experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Own basic hand tools
  • Strong safety mindset and team-oriented attitude

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations during outage operations
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment including:
  • Conveyors
  • Crushers and screens
  • Motors
  • Hydraulics
  • Gearboxes
  • Follow all MSHA safety standards , site-specific rules, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Work efficiently under tight downtime schedules while maintaining safety and quality
  • Collaborate with other mechanics, electricians, and supervisors to meet outage deadlines
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately
