MS/US Tennis Coach (Stipend Position)
About The Position
The Shelton School is the largest independent school worldwide for intelligent students with learning differences. Shelton provides a superior education for those that think and learn differently. A customized approach is used to teach and learn within a mainstream environment. This team competes in the TAPS league. This position will oversee administrative functions of the Tennis team Athletics Director; and perform all other activities necessary to carry out the aims of the sport and uphold the mission of The Shelton School. This includes serving and empowering the lives of students who learn differently. This is a part-time stipend only position. The Tennis coach is generally needed during the Fall and Spring seasons. The exact daily work schedule is driven by practice times and team events. Travel to athletic events off campus is required. However, the employee is expected to work beyond the workday to perform duties outlined in the job description and as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Tennis Coach
- A mentor to students, comfortable with working with teenage boys and girls
- In good standing with TAPPS
- Must be highly organized and a great communicator
- Must be patient and creative in communicating with learning different students
- Must be willing to undergo extra training to work with learning different students
- Knowledgeable of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
- Numerous coaching techniques (all of our kids learn differently)
- Valid state of Texas drivers license
- Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen
