Kinkaid’s Cooney Teaching Fellowship offers an unparalleled opportunity for a future educator to gain substantial teaching experience in a dynamic educational environment best known for its innovation and passion for excellence. The Fellowship is a one-year, paid internship to pair a less-experienced future educator with master teachers in any Middle School discipline to gain experience in effective lesson planning, creating an engaging learning environment, and mastering content delivery and assessment. Starting in August 2026, the ideal candidate will be dynamic, eager to learn, student-centered, and interested in becoming a full-time educator, but will not yet have the experience to be considered for full-time teaching positions. This fellowship experience is intended to help future educators develop a strong familiarity with core content, connect content to students’ innate inquisitiveness, and integrate technology into the curriculum, among other key aspects of effective instruction. The Cooney Fellow must embrace and help advance the principles set out in Kinkaid’s core documents: mission and core values , Middle School Educational Philosophy , and the Portrait of a Teacher . This person must also be a visible participant in the school's life, actively contributing beyond the classroom.
