About The Position

BRT is a growing aluminum extrusions company that produces aluminum extrusions used in various products globally. The MRO Storeroom Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the storeroom operations and managing purchases for plant and office-related products, including tools, maintenance parts, office supplies, and manufacturing supplies. Key aspects of the role involve inventory management, vendor relationship development, negotiation, order placement, invoice review, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience managing inventory through an MRO or IMS (Inventory Management System).
  • Must have experience developing, or supporting the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), processes, and automated inventory management systems.
  • Must be able to coach and lead others, and have proven supervisory skills.
  • Fluent computer skills are a must with experience using Microsoft products.
  • Comply with Company policies including but not limited to all Safety policies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and to communicate with employees professionally and calmly.
  • Must have and maintain good attendance.
  • Must be willing to participate in all required job and/or employment-related trainings.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MaintainX, or similar CMMS systems preferred.
  • Strong manufacturing and mechanical background preferred with the ability to recognize industrial parts.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Storeroom and purchases for some plant/office related products. Examples: Tools, maintenance parts and supplies, office supplies, manufacturing supplies.
  • Enter and keep current; parts and supply inventory requirements, purchases, into established purchasing system/tools.
  • Ensure the purchasing system/software and process is being utilized by all relevant employees.
  • Train on the systems and update all as system changes are made.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential vendors.
  • Resolve issues involving delivery timeliness, quantity, and quality of material.
  • Identify alternate supply sources, negotiate best price, and other interactions as necessary to obtain supplies.
  • Bid large orders from multiple vendors and make recommendations to management on vendor selection and implements as approved and directed.
  • Place orders for maintenance parts, manufacturing supplies and contract work; includes obtaining prices, scheduling deliveries, and writing purchase orders.
  • Review invoices for accuracy of price and quantity as compared to purchase orders and provide paperwork for Accounts Payable within payment timelines.
  • Follow up with vendors as necessary to ensure that parts are available to meet production needs.
  • Retain documents in compliance with organization’s record retention policy.
  • Work with information from Maintenance, Engineering and Production and identify and establish appropriate parts inventory levels.
  • Conduct periodic review of inventory levels (Cycle Counts) to ensure recordkeeping accuracy and sufficient supply levels as required.
