About The Position

The MRO Powerplant Engineer reports to the GE Lafayette Plant Leader and works in a self-directed teaming structure. This role is responsible for providing technical support within the shop with relation to CFM LEAP engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul. GE Lafayette has been in operation since 2015 and currently supports LEAP and Passport programs for New Make and MRO. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of Manufacturing or Engineering experience)
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside GE (i.e., vendors)
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Review of engine disassembly and engine hardware and timely reporting of condition
  • Raising Departure Record (DR) cases, tracking and actioning in ERP system (OASIS)
  • Work with technicians to troubleshoot technical issues that arise within the shop
  • Shop Instruction creation / maintenance and review
  • Support engineering leader and collaborate with LEAP PSE (Product Support Engineering)/ CTP (Customer Technical Program) on Fleet issues
  • Interpretation and translation of customer maintenance documents into Lafayette specific internal documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Work with internal and external departments and vendors on any technical issues as required to support business needs
  • Day to day communications, e.g. Specific engine issues, conditions and investigations
  • Support and coach self-directed teams to achieve program/business objectives
