About The Position

Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants is currently seeking an MRO Coordinator. This position is responsible for managing maintenance spare parts inventory to established min/max levels for maintenance central stores in a cost-effective manner. Fundamental Job Tasks: Supports the manufacturing operation by developing and following established procedures for procurement and acquisition of parts and supplies for the manufacturing area and the corporate buildings and grounds. Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to established min/max levels. Maintains storeroom in a neat and orderly manner to facilitate location and use of spare parts and supplies. Manages outside support vendors, i.e., scrap metal recycling, Universal waste, used oil, parts washers, etc. Coordinates delivery of parts/services based on priority and maintenance scheduling. Drives cost reduction through reduced inventory levels, and working with Purchasing to ensure Franklin is paying the best possible price for parts and supplies. Re-evaluates, on an annual basis, competitiveness and service provided by preferred vendors and implement changes where necessary. Competitively outsources OEM parts to reduce costs while maintaining the integrity of the replacement parts. Supports continuous improvement by recognizing trends and establishing records in the CMMS system. Establishes min/max inventory levels to meet production needs. Develop and manages systems to track inventory and charge parts out to ensure accurate costing and charging of parts and supplies. Utilizes these records to establish an on-going purchasing record for future ordering. Responsible for tracking spending by department and cost code to budget and report variances. Manages parts and supplies usage and supply trends to identify and anticipate possible supply issues that could negatively impact operations or usage trends that signal possible problems or issues within manufacturing. Evaluate inventory levels and turnover through conducting cycle count reviews of inventory on a regular basis. Provides department account numbers, part numbers; if necessary, while writing PO reqs. and maintain ISO documentation system for the Maintenance Dept. Streamlines tool room operation by developing and implementing procedures designed to control cost and track utilization and use of tools, parts, equipment and supplies. Manages trends that lead to unnecessary use of parts or supplies through the tool room. Supervises any tool room help in performing the above responsibilities. Develop and maintain a spare parts locator system for the corporate storeroom. Observes all safety/ environmental guidelines and procedures while handling products, raw materials and wastes.

Requirements

  • Must be experienced in MS Word and Excel and able to learn other software quickly (MS Project, MS Access, and the EAM system software).
  • Requires familiarity with the internet and ability to order products electronically, along with good understanding of inventory cycle count methodology and calculation of inventory turns based on demand.
  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent, with two or more years of higher education, preferably in a technical field or equivalent applicable work experience with a proven success record.
  • Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license and forklift license.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial maintenance training and/or experience preferred.
  • APICS training a plus.
