About The Position
The MRO Buyer at Magna International Inc. plays a crucial role in the procurement process, focusing on maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) items essential for the division's operational efficiency. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with both potential and current suppliers, ensuring that the division's MRO needs are met effectively and efficiently. The MRO Buyer will engage in contract reviews, ordering, organization, and planning to support the operational requirements of the division. This role requires a proactive approach to sourcing supplies and services, ensuring that all non-production items are procured based on the best overall value available in the market. In this position, the MRO Buyer will process requisitions, purchase orders, and requests for quotations, collaborating with various departments to ensure that production requirements are consistently met. The role involves negotiating optimum pricing and terms with suppliers, participating in review meetings to facilitate the successful launch of new products and processes, and working closely with maintenance and production teams to ensure the effective utilization of the MRO crib. The MRO Buyer will also be responsible for expediting and following up on requirements, analyzing supplier quotations, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality goods and services. Additionally, the role includes coordinating the return of goods for credit, repair, or replacement, thereby maintaining a smooth procurement process.
