The Job: As MRO Material Buyer you’ll be part of our Industrial team working as an onsite employee. You’ll get to: Plan and issue purchase orders for materials, goods, and services to be processed by external manufacturing firms or directed by operations management. Identify, select, qualify, and develop suppliers for MRO and indirect items and services as part of vendor management. Conduct RFQs, RFPs, and negotiations to secure the best prices, terms, and contracts for materials and services. Plan and maintain optimal inventory levels, often using tools like Plan for Every Part (PFEP) , to ensure availability while minimizing costs. Implement sourcing strategies and cost-saving initiatives, approach to optimize expenses Research industry trends, risks, and opportunities within assigned commodities Manage standard purchasing processes, including procure-to-pay workflows, and maintain data integrity in the company's ERP system. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as supplier on-time delivery (OTD), past-due orders, and supplier performance to ensure efficiency. Assist Shipping and Receiving with preparation of export documents for outside processing orders. Resolve quantity, quality, documentation, and other discrepancies associated with procurement working directly with vendors and suppliers as needed. Obtain material return authorizations from suppliers for defective or excess materials. The Person: You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You also have: One year certificate from college or technical school; or a minimum of three-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or a minimum of three-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in purchasing or inventory/production control.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Takes initiative collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain data to maximize ROI
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is often required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are crucial for dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail are necessary for managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations, industrial components, and quality requirements.
