About The Position

This is a full-time MRI Technologist position located at West Hospital. The hours are Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 3:30p-2a. Holiday Rotation and Call. Sign-on bonus available to eligible applicants! The role involves possessing knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones, reviewing patient history, and screening for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.). The technologist will educate patients on what to expect and ensure they are safe and comfortable during their scan. Responsibilities include obtaining IV access, preparing and administering contrast, and recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. The position requires advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and ensuring the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment. The technologist will display knowledge of scanning protocols and adjust to ensure diagnostic images, perform routine QC, ensure equipment is functioning properly, collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians, document necessary information in EMR, and assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Advanced certification through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance, RT(MR); or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT): Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (RMRIT), within 12 months of hire.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
  • May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.

  • MRI experience is preferred.
