The position involves operating magnetic resonance (MR) equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures, including routine musculoskeletal, neurological and orthopedic imaging, arthrogram, neurological angiography, body imaging, and small joint imaging. The technologist will obtain medical histories from patients, ensure exam accuracy by comparing requisitions to physician's orders, and prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist. Responsibilities also include positioning patients, selecting proper scanning factors, and ensuring magnet protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies. Post-processing of images, maintaining records, and documenting billing codes are also key responsibilities. The role requires identifying equipment performance issues, performing quality assurance tests, and evaluating new products and equipment. Additionally, the technologist must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients, as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
