GENERAL SUMMARY: Under direction of the MRI Supervisor and according to established protocols and procedures and the directions of a Radiologist, operates MRI scanner to obtain filmed images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. Provides care to neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Must have completed two years of post high school training in an approved school of radiologic technology. 2. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress. 3. Must have analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of MRI techniques and methods and knowledge of cross sectional anatomy. 4. Previous MRI experience preferred. 5. Work requires six months on-the-job training to acquire necessary familiarity with MRI procedures, techniques and methods. 6. Registration, Certification or Licensure Requirement: ARRT registered. Current BLS Certification. MRI registry preferred.
