About The Position

AMI is seeking a Per Diem MRI Technologist to join the team in the Cape May Court House, NJ office location! This is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient Radiology practice. AMI offers the 401K retirement benefit to Per Diem employees. Offered rates increase based on years of work experience. Generous shift differential applies! -Extra $15.00 per hour after 12pm on Saturdays! The MRI Technologist is responsible for but not limited to: Conducts all scheduled and on-demand MRI scans according to department policies. Handles image reconstruction, archiving, filming, and other software tasks as directed by the Radiologist or standard procedures. Reviews diagnostic requests for correct anatomy and clinical history. Explains procedures to patients. Evaluates and ensures patient safety in the MRI environment, including following all screening protocols and ensuring patients wear gowns (no street clothes in the MRI room). Helps patients on and off the MRI table, using lift assist devices when needed. Consults with the Radiologist and apply proper scanning protocols as instructed. Completes daily work schedules and document procedures using the Radiology Information System. Monitors patient flow and accommodate unscheduled or add-on studies as needed. Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions; corrects minor system problems when possible to minimize downtime. Performs weekly system quality control and all required equipment calibrations, warm-up, and shutdown procedures, with proper documentation. Maintains daily inventory of medical and other supplies; obtains stock items as needed and reports when non-stock items need replenishing. Assists in training new graduates, employees, and students on AMI equipment as directed by management. Perform any additional duties as required and assigned. This is a Per Diem position based in the Cape May Court House, NJ office location. Available shift times include Monday-Friday 6:30am-8pm and Saturdays 7:30am-4pm. Scheduling is based on employee availability and department needs. QualificationsCandidates for this position must be a graduate of an accredited MRI program and are registered in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or ARMRIT. Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to start of employment. Previous experience or certification in venipuncture preferred for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. If not currently trained/certified, must be willing to obtain. In-house training will be provided. Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written, are necessary for success in this position.
