About The Position

AMI is seeking a Full time, 40 hour per week MRI Technologist to join the teams in the Manahawkin and Galloway office locations. This is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient Radiology practice! Offered rates increase based on years of work experience. Generous shift differential applies! -Extra $15.00 per hour after 8pm on weekdays and after 12pm on Saturdays! This full time, 40 hour per week position will provide coverage in the AMI Manahawkin and Galloway office locations. The work schedule includes: Monday 6:30am- 5:00pm, Manahawkin Tuesday 9:30am-8pm, Galloway Wednesday 8:30am-7pm, Manahawkin Thursday Off Friday 6:30am-5pm, Manahawkin Rotating Saturdays, 7:30am-4pm, approximately every three (3) to four (4) weeks in Manahawkin and Galloway based on PTO coverage Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Candidates for this position must be a graduate of an accredited MRI program
  • registered MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or ARMRIT
  • Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to start of employment
  • Previous experience or certification in venipuncture preferred for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. If not currently trained/certified, must be willing to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Fonar is a plus and candidates must be willing to receive Fonar training.

Responsibilities

  • Operating all aspects of MR scanning unit, incorporating extensive knowledge of system’s computer and all program modalities to perform scanning procedures and transfer images to film or software for interpretation
  • Evaluating screening to ensure patient safety in the magnetic field
  • Consulting with the Radiologist and implementing proper scanning protocols as directed
  • Completing daily work schedule, documenting in Zotec and on any required forms
  • Monitoring patient flow and accommodating unscheduled patients and add-on studies
  • As per office policy, performing all quality control testing, equipment calibrations, warm-up and shut down procedures with proper documentation
  • Advising the Chief Technologist/Office Administrator of the need for all maintenance, service and repair work
  • Participating in office meetings, in-service programs, continuing education programs and other designated activity
  • Responding to office codes, policies and procedures to ensure optimum patient, employee, visitor and physical plant safety and security
  • Demonstrating competency in dealing with patients in all age categories: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
  • Performing all other duties as required and assigned
