The technologist is responsible for the proper operation of imaging and specialty equipment, staying updated on medical device uses, and providing direct care for all procedures in this area. They ensure patients are prepared, provide quality care during procedures, and assist with patient and family education. The position may also support research activities, demonstrate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology, and provide complex technical care. MRI Technologists assist with planning multiple diagnostic procedures, act as a resource for students and junior technologists, and complete procedures in the Radiology Information System for billing purposes.
