Requirements

• Graduated from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
• Radiological Technologist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• State of Florida Certification
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR)

• Venipuncture experience

Responsibilities

• Perform all required diagnostic MRI scanning procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the diagnostic studies.
• Screen patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination (i.e., pain, claustrophobia, metallic objects, isolation patients, etc.).
• Obtain and review the requisition for examination to obtain information such as procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition or any other special requirements.
• Thoroughly explain procedure to be performed to alleviate patient anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation.
• Monitor the condition of any patient within the department and assist the radiologist in performing needed medical attention, if applicable.
• Prepares patients for MR procedures assisting patients onto examination tables and positioning patient for proper imaging.
• Routinely prepare examination for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and image processing, adequate clinical history and other relevant image studies for comparison (if available).
• Maintain the MR scanning equipment in good operating order.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and area after each use.
• Maintain work area in an orderly manner.
• Check to ensure emergency equipment is in good working order.
• Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to responsible supervisor.
• Comply with company operational and safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and emergency response procedures, where applicable.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
