Join a team of imaging professionals supporting Memorial Healthcare System’s six acute care hospitals. Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Two (2) years MRI experience in acute care setting required
Must be registered in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registered as a Technologist (ARMRIT)- Advance Registry MRI Technology

Responsibilities

Prepares equipment and supplies.
Selects appropriate imaging parameters.
Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.
Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations.
When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
Analyzes acquisition parameters and resulting sequences and identifies issues with the quality of images.
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and/or repeating images/sequences in conjunction with interpreting physicians and standard protocols.
Maintains MRI Safety in accordance with safety recommendations outlined by the American College of Radiology and hospital policy.
Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
